CANDIDATE STATEMENT

I have spent most of my professional life in public and private law practice in San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles.  As a Deputy City Attorney for San Francisco, I was public contracts counsel to the Department of Public Works, and to the Board of Supervisors  and an advocate and representative for the School District and for the Human Rights Commission. I learned that good governance is essential to any community to serve the needs of those who live and work there.

In Moraga, I proudly served our town as a Planning Commissioner, PTA President, Design Review Board Member, and Moraga Park Foundation Board Member.  I am currently serving as Vice-President of the Moraga Community Foundation and previously served as Sanders Ranch HOA President and Chair of its Architectural Committee.

I’m excited about helping Moraga refine its image as a vibrant, healthy, sustainable, and desirable community.  I look forward to the challenge of implementing state mandated housing legislation with thoughtful and innovative decision-making and using these mandates as a catalyst for strategic thinking about Moraga’s future.

I also want to expand our ongoing efforts to improve fire safety and emergency management, revitalize our commercial and retail areas, address traffic congestion, support our schools, and protect our treasured open space.

Moraga will be at its best when its elected leadership and staff work together in a collegial way, focusing on current policy issues and smart planning.  Together, we can do this, and I would be honored if I could count on your vote.
